Match Details

Single day .22lr Competition
This practical shooting match is open to all kinds of shooters. With 8+ different stages, there will be something for everyone including fast "Run & Gun" type stages to Long range precision stages and everything in between. If you fancy yourself a good .22 shooter, bring your gear along and give it a go! If not, do it anyway. We cater for all levels of experience with the various classes. Each match varies with different classes designed to give everyone a fair chance throughout the year to do well. Some examples include: Bolt Action - Any .22LR bolt action can enter this class, whether it's a basic setup or a full-noise competition setup. Semi Auto - Ranging from your typical Ruger 10/22 to high end AR-style semi's, if you can rapid fire, this is definitely the fun class! Full Send - Longer stages with high round counts and plenty of movement / time restrictions. Expert level where the best of the best live. Give it a try, if you dare.. NGFS (never go full send) - Less movement and more time per stage. Slightly lower round count than Full Send. This is for your mid-range shooter. Hunter Class - Sometimes we have a hunter class, which is suitable for those with "non-dialling" basic scopes and non-modified basic .22LR setups. Support - Starting in first firing position, heaps less movement and a lower round count than NGFS. Suitable for new competitors. Youth - Our newest class, catering for the next generation of safe competitive shooters. Same rules as Support class, but giving all the kids a level playing field where they're only competing against each other. Must be supervised by a parent/guardian. All competitors will be put into squads and each squad will start at a different stage. All squads will be assigned a "Squad Mum" who will make sure the event runs smoothly, organising shooters and ensuring everyone helps out with scoring, spotting etc. For all you new shooters who haven't been before, "shooting equipment" generally consists of various shooting bags, a range finder, binoculars and some kind of tripod / shooting stick setup for elevated shooting. For compulsory Tripod work, one will be provided at the applicable stage, otherwise bring all your own gear or find a mate with plenty to share. The Section22 final match will be held some time in December each year, where there will be lots of prizes up for grabs! The only condition to be eligible for the prize table is that you have competed in at least one Section22 rimfire match during the year. Prizes are random draw, so everyone has an equal chance at nabbing some cool stuff. If you haven't competed yet, make it this one!
